At Bethlehem, we ask you to join our Mission, not our church. Please contact Pastor John or the church office. Click here to see service times.
Bethlehem is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are also part of the Grand Canyon Synod. Lutherans are named for the reformer Martin Luther and are a denomination of the larger Christian church.
We share in Communion every Sunday during worship. Since it is Christ’s table, and all are welcome before Christ, we practice open Communion. This means that there are no prerequisites for participating. Even if you’ve never been to church before, you are welcome at God’s table.
Youth are an important part of the congregation. We partnership with other Lutheran churches to provide safe, engaging, and exciting programs for Middle School and High School students.
We love kids at Bethlehem! During Covid19 we are not operating our Nursery until further notice however, we do invite all age children (walking to 6th grade) to come forward, every Sunday at worship, to participate in the Children’s lessons lead by Sharon Odden for a very special lesson, prayer and blessing. We also invite children to participate in communion; for the little ones we provide fish-shaped crackers and juice.
At Bethlehem all kids are welcome in the service. And they don’t have to be quiet! There are worship bags available in the narthex/entry way filled with coloring materials.
Noah’s Ark Early Child Development Center is a ministry of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. It is a preschool and kindergarten with extended hours for potty trained children thru kindergarten. Ms Jill Majestic is the director. For more information please follow the link noahsarkblc.org.
Yes! It’s very important to us that whoever you are, you know you are welcome now, just as you are. And we won’t change our mind about you next week!
Bethlehem is a community of people who are in lots of different places in their faith journey. While we are certainly a Christian church, we don’t expect our members or guests to have Christ figured out. We only ask that you are respectful of everyone’s beliefs and open to questioning and discovering with us what it is to be a follower of Christ. At Bethlehem, you belong before you believe.
It is impossible to pray incorrectly. The prayers of a young child or an ancient saint are equal in God’s ears. If you have never prayed before, simply get quiet, listen to your breathing, and talk to God. Tell God what is on your heart. Tell God your hopes and dreams; your fears and failures. Then simply listen. Listen with the ears of your heart for God’s response. This is certainly not the only way to pray, but it has been effective for believers of all ages.
We also invite you to pray prayers that have stood the test of time. Click here to view them.
