While spending some time at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, I found it was perfect for a little meditation…and the beginning of a new ministry at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mesa.

I had one of those moments where you think of something new but wondered why you didn’t think of it before.  I’m sure there are many loved ones who have been interred or buried at this cemetery with ties to Bethlehem.  So, I’m doing a new ministry where I will place flowers at those sites 3 to 4 times a year.  I will go in February with spring flowers, May with patriotic flowers, October with fall flowers, and in December I will participate with “Wreaths Across America” (more on this later).  I will say a prayer as I place the flowers.  I will take a photo and send it to you if you have a smart phone or a computer.

I need your help. I need the information to find your loved one.  Your loved one’s name, relationship, location (it’s a huge cemetery), your phone number, your email address.

If you want to participate with “Wreaths Across America” which I highly recommend, contact www.wreathsacrossamerica.org, fill out their form. It only costs $15 per wreath. You can arrange for a wreath anytime of the year, you do not need to wait until the fall. You can also volunteer to place wreaths on the sites too.
