From the Garden

What a way to blast out of June…
It’s been a tough month as we’ve said with the heat and birds but we still managed to eke out over 350 lbs of freshly harvested produce (for the month) as demonstrated by June’s final delivery to the food bank. The Tomatoes are holding their own in their (bird) fight together with the Figs that are now coming on strong; the Okra has taken center stage in its bid to rule the summer.
We do have cucumbers planted albeit some boxes may lay fallow as our summer help is also dry.
The Egyptian spinach is abundant and ready to harvest and the Malibar spinach is now at harvest stage as well. Thanks for your support.
After service last Sunday, Jonathan and the kids found a lizard roaming in the Church restroom. They rescued him and placed him in our Harvest of Hope garden!
