Congregation, How Can You Help?
Are you excited with anticipation? Has God selected a pastor for Bethlehem yet? Will our new pastor be male or female? Only God knows the answers to all of our questions. All of us at Bethlehem are looking forward to the day when we have some answers to these burning questions.
In anticipation, a new committee was established. The Welcoming Committee is made up of the following members of the congregation. They are as follows: Audrey Anderson, Anna Marie Freeman (council representative), Sharon Odden, Avis Peterson, Ellie Thompson (council representative) and Pastor John Schaumburg. David Geffert is the chairperson for this committee.
There are two ways that you, the congregation, can help the Welcoming Committee. During our first meeting, we tossed around ideas, suggestions, etc. on how to make our new pastor feel at home. If you have an idea, suggestion, etc. that you would like to share, please contact David Geffert at 480-560-4147. David can also be reached by email, dgeffert01@gmail.com . All of us on the Welcoming Committee would appreciate any input you might have.
How many of you are guilty of not wearing your name tag? I know I am. I challenge each one of us to start wearing our name tag every Sunday. As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect.” We only have one name to learn, but our new pastor will be trying to learn all of our names. The simple act of wearing our name tags reflects our motto, “We are a home to share God’s love and grace.”
What if I don’t have a name tag to wear? If that is the case, a name tag will be provided for you by contacting Jim Thompson, chairman of the Call Committee. Jim is also the official name tag maker. Jim may be reached at 602-751-9194 or by email, missellienjim@yahoo.com.
