Report to Congregation for May 26, 2024
1. The council discussed making contributions to the church by means of Qualified Charitable Distributions (or QCD’s). It is a way of donating funds to the church from your IRA distribution. There will be more information about QCD’s in the E-Blasts.
2. BLC’s Council unanimously accepted for membership ten new people: Maggie Blaetz, Valerie Leach, Dale and Sandra Lieber, Kenton Nakken, Maxine O’Neil, John “Michael” and Christine Sinclair, and Associated Members, Tom Stapel and Kathryn Hovey. Please make sure to help and involve them in fellowship and our ministries.
3. The council members are reading and discussing the book “Growing Young.” It’s a book on six (6) essential strategies to help young people discover and love your church. Fifteen minutes of the next six council meetings will be devoted to book discussion and how we can apply some of the strategies to BLC.
4. Council members are exploring safer ways to help people being dropped off from the parking lot through the courtyard and into church. It’s a safety concern with a lot of children playing in the courtyard.
