I simply wanted to take the time this week to cover a few things.
First, I wanted to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who helped decorate and create ornaments for Advent. The space looks incredible, and it was wonderful to enjoy a meal and fellowship after we were all done. It is wonderful when we can take the time to gather and work together as the body of Christ. This Sunday, in worship, we will have a time during the service to hang all the decorations that were made on the trees in the worship space. We would love for everyone to grab a couple ornaments and decorate the three trees we have around the worship space.
Next, I wanted to again say congratulations to our 8 youth who received both their Bibles and their Faith Milestone boxes (and Bible stone) in worship this last Sunday. In this new ministry to our youth, we will not only celebrate the milestones in their faith, but we will also mark them with stones so that they can have a tangible reminder of how they are growing in their faith. If you didn’t have the chance on Sunday, I invite you to congratulate those 8 youth and talk to them about their Bibles and their faith. They are incredible kids with amazing gifts and big hearts.
Finally, I just want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. With everything that is going on in our lives and in this world, it is important to take a day to give thanks to God and one another for everything we have in our lives. Just today I was very thankful for the simple fact that I can sit and write this letter to all of you. I came into work this morning and my computer would not turn on. I plugged it in (it’s a laptop) and let it charge for a little bit, but it still wouldn’t turn on. After panicking, I searched the internet and was able to find a solution to my problem. I held down a series of keys and then pushed the power button it did in fact come on. I was so grateful that it did! I am also grateful for the help article that knew the solution to my problem.
I pray that you all have a blessed Thanksgiving and I want to say it is a blessing to be in ministry with every one of you.
Blessings,
Pastor Brian
