Dear Friends,
It is my great joy to report to you that on Sunday, the congregation voted unanimously, 51-0, to call Pastor Brian Weinberger to be our next pastor. We also unanimously voted to accept his Compensation Package.
After the meeting Rich Johnson, president of the congregation, and Jim Thompson, chair of the call committee, called Pastor Brian, as he prefers to be called, and told him the results of our voting. Pastor Brian immediately accepted the call. Thus Pastor Brian Weinberger will be our next pastor, the fifth called pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
I called Pastor Brian to talk about the transition period. At this moment, we are looking at or around Sept 1 as a starting day. The exact day will be determined shortly.
Pastor Brian is currently the pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Kingman, Arizona. The church’s website is Graceforthejourney.org.
On the website you will hear Pastor Brian’s sermons and watch him teach a Bible study.
The date for Pastor Brian’s installation is being discussed with Bishop Deborah this week. Invitations to the installation will be sent to all members, friends of the church, conference pastors, etc.
Please keep Pastor Brian, his wife Becca, their daughters Aubrey and Madison and the Grace Lutheran congregation in your prayers. Especially pray for our new pastor family in their search for housing in Mesa.
