People of Bethlehem,
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from our Savior Jesus Christ. I am writing this letter to let you all know that you are in my thoughts and prayers after the intense storm that wreaked havoc on many parts of the valley. I pray that you are all well and safe. I knew that we had a bad storm but it wasn’t until I received a call from Roger that I learned how extensive the damage was to the valley.
I want to let you all know that the campus of Bethlehem and Noah’s Ark are in overall good shape. The grounds have downed trees and many broken branches and debris. The building itself only suffered from some roof tile loss that did not affect the building at all. We are working with our insurance so that we can move through the process of cleaning up our campus and repairing the loss of tiles. In case you were wondering, the tiles lost were not a part of the recent roof repair work we had done. It occurred on a different part of the building.
I want to let you all know how grateful I am for the hands that have stepped up to clean up our campus from the aftermath of the storm. Roger, Tony, Terry, and myself helped to clear branches and debris from the entire campus to make it safe and accessible. I want to also say a special thank you to all the staff at Noah’s Ark for the work they did in making the campus safe for all of our students and their families. I even witnessed one classroom, though I am sure there were more, picking up large debris in the courtyard, and when I thanked them they started chanting, “this is our school!” It brought joy and love to my heart to see these young ones lending a helping hand to the care of our campus.
I also want you all to know that you can reach out to the church if you are in need. We will do what we can to support you during this time. Some of the damage we witnessed on our drive into the church this morning was rather devastating, so again, I want you to know that we as a community are here for you.
Blessings to you, prayers for you, and God’s peace be with you as we all work through the damage and loss that our community has experienced.
Blessings,
Pastor Brian
